After the build was finished, and the box firmly glued shut, I was a bit disappointed by the thin tone of the instrument. So I used liquid nails to affix these zinc-plated mending bars from home depot to add mass. The tone was improved greatly by this, and I am encouraged to try further mass-adding experiments.

Adding mass to the back of the box to improve the tone. Another interesting idea. Hadn't thought of that before.
