  • The neck is maple, and I think the fret board is rosewood, I got that wood long enough ago that I'm not positive.  But the head is birds-eye maple from the upper peninsula of Michigan.  A relative brought me a piece just a bit too short for a neck, and with a twist in it.  But it is enough for 4 head stocks.  All hand made and shaped with hand held tools.  Fret slots were cut with a coping saw, head cut with a hand held scroll saw, and the neck shaped with a hand held sander.  This one was made for a local cowgirl, requested by her dad.

  • Nice.  What is that wood?   I assumed that was a factory neck, but here it looks like a super good home made.  ?
