Thanks for all of the encouragement and awesome information.

I’ve been intrigued with the concept of zero nuts so I figured that I’d try it on this build.

The strings haven’t been hopping around, it was a worry of mine during the build but they stay in place and stay in tune ( I lucked out! LOL )

Good. Stringing the strings in the straightest path is the way to go. We don't worry about stringing from the inside like a factory build. Having the tuners a an inch or more from the nut reduces problems.

Your scarf joint is meant to help put downward pressure on the nut. Even with the scarf joint, sometimes the pressure is not enough and folks add a string tree or bar or screw across the strings for down pressure.

You used a fret for a nut and that is called a zero fret. Zero frets are good for lower action - keeping the strings fairly low on the over the frets for easier fingering, chording etc. Sometimes with a setup like yours, you get string hop. The strings kind of move off the path you have them on. You may need to LIGHTLY file a tiny groove for the strings to sit on/sit in.

What you have done looks good and well done. I hope it plays great. Feel free to message me if you have any questions that I may help you with. Another guy to contact would be Poorness Studios, who lives in the Dallas FW area.
