This is my first build - I used an old soup spoon for a tail piece. I built it a couple of months ago, but I just wired it for sound with two piezo pickups. I added a wingnut filled with hotmelt glue for the volume knob - it works rather nicely with one finger to change the volume. This was an experiment that worked out in a satisfying way! Next I am going to try adding frets.

    Don't fear the frets. Measure twice, squeeze them in, don't use a hammer.

  • Some great touches, love that spoon!  One suggestion, you might want to move the bridge away from the edge of the box lid. At least an inch or so should help with more volume. Like the wingnut too!
