  • No truss but pretty high action. I have since built another that used a solid piece of oak with an oak fingerboard on top. I set the neck back at a slight angle and it brought the action down nicely. You still want to have a bit of relief in the neck on a bass or you get a good deal of buzz. I think that this one was a 30" scale to bring down the tension but the improved model is 31" and tunes up to pitch great. I'll get around to posting pic and sound samples when it is finished (I always have too much fun playing them BEFORE they are finished!).
  • 2 quick questions: Did you have to truss the neck for the tension of the bass strings, and how long is your scale.
