A combination of water, heat, stain, sanding, tearing, beating, dragging, throwing and stomping. Then, when we thought we screwed it up by going to far, we turned the lid over and looked at the underside of the box lid, and to our surprise, we saw what you now see as the top. So basically was an accident! A great example of why to never get upset over mistakes when building, they often make the guitar even better!
