Along the side of the neck I took metal stamps and put the fret positions numbers on to make it easier to play TABS. I cut the top section off of the neck and glued a 1/4" piece of wood on the bottom. It lowers the machine head and works well.

  • Thanks on the info. 

  • For the head stock I measure 2" back, then cut an angle down to my bottom cut which is half the width.  I then glue a 1/4" piece of wood on the bottom that is 2 1/2" long.  Other than waiting for the glue to dry, this is a pretty simple fix to keep the tuner low enough to keep pressure on the string and nut screw.

  • If you click on the full size view above, you can see the numbers (somewhat better).

  • I can't see the numbers, but I see a diddley headstock idea worth borrowing.
