Hi John. Thanks for the kind comment. I use a vox valvetronix ad50 vt xl amp. it sounds wonderful!!! For practice, I use a Chord amp, small and no fancy effects. Just reverb and a clean sound.

It gives me room to move John ,cose when you do all four, and the ohio sax

all at the same time ,that mic stay's in front of you and it takes both the Harp & vocals so im glad how that worked out ,it took only 5 min whit the bandsaw ,some fast drying acrillic paint ,ducktape, drilling a hole and whalla, to keep it in place i cut rubber bands from a bicycle innertube and the hole thing came together in less than a hour ! now is the thing to get it all recorded in a decent way! im thinking separate Vid and audio & then remix ,but ill have to give it a go ! thanks for your kind comments on the subject !! Greeeeeettssz A.D.

Thanks for your comments Uncle John, Shirley bought the plate from a Christmas market stall thinking it would be a good project,it's exactly as it came.

  • John Bennett

Many thanks, Uncle John - very pleased to receive your kind comments. The fingerboard is a bit of an unknown. I bought it as a softwood that seemed to be fairly heavy and solid, and I used it in the first version of the CBG about fourteen years ago. Since then it hasn't shown any signs of bending, so I've been lucky. The surface finish was produced by several coats of satin varnish.

Hi Uncle John   Here are the pictures of the stand. I wanted to make a stand that would be rustic looking.  I went to the woods nearby and was walking around looking for something that would work for the stand.  I wanted to use a three leg system but I wanted the wood to be kind of crooked and bent not straight.  I found a couple saplings about 3/4 inch in diameter and cut them and grouped them together until they would all meet at the top.  I took them back into my workshop and started to put it together.  I wanted all the pieces at the top where they come together to have one hole where all three of the sticks came through.    Now all these I had to fit   all three pieces together in the one hole and file them so that they would be at the right angle to the bottom plate.  It took a while but finally got it.  The pictures show the results.  Thanks, Rich

  • A.D.EKER

Well  she sound s kind a bassy ,a lot of hollow in side ,No no brasing just a Gas tin whit a stick treu, no pickup jet ,i allway's play them a while whitout the parafenailya of the modern age, and dicide on a later date  what if, and what kind of amplification pick up it needs, was looking for a good tin for a while, this one is the first that came by in a long while , its a little of center thats because of the top handle ,its solded on to near to the center, fixing it seemd fake to me,so fixed a new london bridge today not on the picture just a mockup piece of wood. so in short it will be a while before a video, its summer and every thing is to much the temperture has gone up quit a bit  last years, its cooking in the 40 here!

  • Nancy kat
