hi, thanks for the vid comment. No it's not a didge, it's a Dan Moi (Vietnamese Jew's Harp)...first saw one on here when Norm got one. I liked the sound so got myself one : -)
MR.BOB,,,was great seeing and hearing you...just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work and effort you put in at orlando cbg fest...you helped make de show...tell your friend i said hello...THANKS AGAIN !!!
Hi Bob, thanks for inviting me to become friends. I'm new to the CBG revolution, although I have been a fan for long time. After reading a ton, and working out a design I thought I'd take the plunge and ordered parts for my first build. Hopefully they will arrive by the end of the week as I'll have my workbench clear by then. I'll be pickin' everyones brain for help as I'm sure I'll need it. Thanks again...Play on. I like you're posts.
hey bob, thanks for the shout and your kind words. some great pics on yr page...love the punch gran puro, missed one of those boxes on ebay and was gutted! cheers, steve:0)
Hi Bob...Just got around to finding out how to leave a comment. I used one of your songs (when you come around) as background to a video I made, I did of course give you credit for the song, I hope this is ok...the link is: http://copsworld.com/journal/gone-on-before/
I will remove it if there is a problem Bob...Thanks by the way it's a great song.
I said I'll look at all your videos... just now i can say It's done...
maybe you don't need this comment more to know you are a NICE GENUINE GENIUS,
but i have to write it... your work is only exceptional...

Thanks Bob, almost ready to get back into it... jsut working on a filmclip for a friends CD launch this weekend - so after I make some Teddys fly and wrestle the Deco build into a playable state I will start o some stuff.... just listened to Gone too Long whilst I was typing...love it... could do a very trippy little film clip for that :D
I have several CBGs, including a favorite built by Fuzzy, but I'm really looking forward to delivery next week of a 30" Macanudu from John Lowe. Anticipating the fun & challenge of playing it. Enjoyed your photos. Do let me know if there is any group sharing tips on tunings, etc. Regards!
Thanks for the insights. (No, not replied to earlier.) I think John is free of the tyranny of having to play in "keys". :-) I asked several times what tunings those strings could handle and he just said, "If you break a string, try a smaller one." I found D & E very "slack" with the strings he sent. Currently up on "G" and no sign of stress on necks. I measured distance to strings & will watch (along with tuner) for bowing. I added fret markers at 3, 5, 7 & 9 for blues, using black elect tape and gold automobile pinstripe mylar. Looks like "cigar bands." (Its been suggested we need a "Lowebow Group".)
Nice Lowebow!! I think Richard's is similar. I noticed yours seems to have both the middle and bottom strings on the 3-string rod go across/above two pickups. On mine (Macanudo) only the middle string crosses TWO pickups. The top & bottom strings only cross one pickup. So the middle RINGS OUT louder than others. I put some elect tape on it at nut to dampen it down.
I've reactivated my interest in building guitars, writing and recording. Video recording is still a bit awkward. Soon, I'll up load a song or two, sharing my builds and music interest. Definitely a great site to see an extremely diverse collection of styles here on the Nation.
