Hey Cadillac Steve,  Thanks for your comment on "If Things Don't Change."   The idea of adding the B string (to GDG tuning) s now firmly planted in my little brain.  Is there one or more of your videos that use it?
  • Keni Lee Burgess

Thank you Slowpaw Steve for your comment. Glad to hear you are enjoying the lessons. Enjoy your practice, Keni Lee
  • dogfinger steve

cheers mate, yeh was a bit rocky and the sound guy was absolutely wrecked... great fun:0)
  • Uncle John

Hi Steve.  I remember playing the grooves out of an Animals' House Of The Rising Sun in the summer of 1964.  Bout' the coolest song I'd ever heard.  Funny how few people knew it was an old song at that time.

Thanks for your comments on my last video.  But calling me Mr Clean!  I think I know where you are coming from.  A couple of my last songs were dirty blues.  I have a holy side and a not so holy side. Gospel is a bit of Oh Lord and blues is a bit of Oh Baby.

  • Bad Finger (Eric)

Hi Steve.  Thanks for the comment on my 12 bars video.  The finger feels a lot better than it looks.  I suppose it's going to be that way for awhile.  :|
  • olds sleeper

  • olds sleeper

it was a rainy day here...took the kids for a long drive past all the brown corn and trees just turning....listened to your blues disc...it was a nice mellow soundtrack.
  • smojo

Thanks, demo was a bit rushed but I think everyone got the general ghist of things. Thanks for the invite, cheers, smojo
  • Hippy Chip

I am a former six shooter guy from 30 years ago, and influenced by pretty much the same list of artists you talked about. I realized at some point that I wasn't going to be the next jimi hendrix and after raising the kids and a messy divorce  I rediscovered  my music.

still have the vinyl collection too! The 3 and 4 stringers are so easy to learn I fell in love with them right away. only been playing about a month or so and borrowed what little I know from fellow CBN members-------I think I will buy keni lee's cd------his vids are very cool. might need to add a reso to the collection?

  • Uncle John

You the man, Steve!  I am not allowed to touch the iron or the fairly new and high tech washer and dryer ~  and there are some good points to that~!
  • Stu Crane AKA aboynamedstu

Cheers for the welcome, nice to meet you Slowpaw

  • darren brown

    thanks steve .
  • Uncle John

Sounds like you want to write a Christmas song...   But just thinking...   Do you know John Denver's 'Please Daddy, Don't Get Drunk For Christmas?'

Good song.  Funny and sad at once.

  • darren brown

thanks for the comment steve .
  • Keni Lee Burgess

Thank you Slowpaw Steve for your comment. Many times, the problem with selecting an object to substitute as a aluminum resonator cone is thickness. The resonator needs to be flexible. Stable enough not to cave in, but able to vibrate with the energy created by the moving strings. To me, a dog bowl might not be a good choice if it is too thick. Enjoy your research, Keni Lee

    'Slowpaw Brew'

Hi Steve, I just wanted to say how much I've been enjoying your album 'Slowpaw Brew'. I've played it many times over this past week and it 'matures' with each sip!

I'm still fairly new to this CBG World and yet I am struck by the rich variety of music that is created by musicians such as yourself. There's enough on this album to appeal to a wide audience. From the foot tapping 'Diddley-Bow Stomp' to the thought provoking 'Arab Spring' A great drama in CBG form! (the lack of lyrics in this one is perfect, a kind of everything is possible, nothing is possible, time will tell!), then that long haul along the 'A1M'. My pick of the bunch for what it's worth, 'I'm So Drunk... Again', I've played this one to death and somehow it's still breathing.

    All the best Paul

  • Jamie MacBlues

Very sorry. My videos stopped working so I re-did them on my page, not realizing they would also show up on the main page and displace others. Seems to be some trouble with video since the last change from Ning.

    Steve

You'll find it well worth while using lighter/better materials.Tried it on a few of mine, this one has a box made from 1/16" thick walnut  back and sides and a western red cedar front. It has best acoustic sound of all .

Model shops sell prefinished sheets of the walnut 4" wide and they aren,t expensive.Glue two one foot lengths together to make a nice back 12"x8",cut a length down the centre, thats your ends and sides
