Uncle Lou, thanks for the feedback on my instruments. I'm having fun trying out new ideas. Currently, I'm working on a 6-string DAD with octave strings; to get some of that pair string sound. It will be electric like your awesome mando. Thanks for posting the picture of it. Doug

I'm in the boat with ya. It's just a lot of fun dabbling with this stuff. There are a lot of kindred souls out there. (Sorry for the cliches, but they fit...)

  • Jared King

Hey Uncle Lou. I really enjoyed the performance of Never Say Never by you and Kay. Is there any chance we might see this recorded under slightly more favorable conditions? You two make quite a duo. I'd love to have a nice MP3 of this.
  • Jared King

Most excellent! I'm really looking forward to getting to hear them! Please keep me posted on your progress.
  • beStillroy

Lou I put your vid up again...
Bairfoot Cajun told me how to do this...
Get the embed code of the vid... where it says embed
    right click COPY
then go to the page you want to post on
    Right click PASTE
I always go ahead and have both pages I need open at the start
    seems easier that way
    Hope you are well

Well you got me as a fan of your playing. Where in the heck did you get such a big box to build a cbg. I'm a large man and most cigar boxes look small when I hold the in front of me LOL

  • Uncle John

Lou,  Thanks for the kind comment on my Dylan cover.  I have not thought of that song in a while.  Your Dylan cover made it come to mind.  Now I wish I could play some reggae.  Can't.  Don't get it.   Oh well, play what I can.

Nice lookin rifle in  your photo.  Looks like an AR15 type, but I can not see it well.  I recently traded a 9mm Springfield for a Taurus Judge.  I LIKE THE JUDGE~!

  • Keni Lee Burgess

Thank you uncle Lou for your comment. It is a combination rendition of Blind Willie Johnson's Dark was the Night, Cold was the Ground, and Robert Johnson's If I had Possession Over Judgement Day. It could also be Rollin' & Tumblin' by Hambone Willie Newbern. Enjoy.
  • Strolling Tone

Nice job on Let it Shine mate. Love your vocals on this one - sounds like you've been gargling with gravel.
  • Uncle John

    Lou,

A real good job on a great blind Willie song. I like it a lot.  I love ol Willie. I have the Soul of  A Man CD.  I wish I could do a song for the tribute, but I have not found one I can do any kind of justice.  I think if Willie could come back right now, he'd think, "What's that old white man doin to my song?  Geeze that geetar be loud.  Shee-it, he do me proud."

Nice old arch top.  Had not seen it before.

    God bless,

    John B.

  • jeff maurer

yup gotta love beagles. her name is lilly and every time i take her for a walk down to the river little kids wanna pet her and the older folks wanna talk and reminisce about their younger days when they had a beagle, but lilly being a beagle just wants to skip all that and get in the woods and chase deer around!
  • Phill Hill Charlie

I've wondered for a long time, just how to contact you.  I went as far as to drive around the Bliss area, but to no avail.  I meet a friend of yours at work. He told me, he's heard you at church. I just wanted to thank you for perking my interest (cbg's).  It's been quite a ride so far.

  • Preston J. Laisure

Sorry to here you won't be at Beard's on the 24th. I attended the Uke session on last Monday at Red Sky Stage and was asked if I was the guy who played at "open mic" at Beard's. I guess all guys with beards and CBG's look alike. Is there any other place, you plan to play in the near future, say before "Opening Day?" Do you use bow or rifle or both?  Preston

  • Preston J. Laisure

Thanks for the info. I wish you luck and safety in your hunt. I'll be in touch as soon as I have any news.  Preston

  • Preston J. Laisure

You gave me a idea. I went on the net and looked the Ted Nugent "Fred Bear song." I was jammin' along, all alone here, since my wife was out doing a church thing. When it hit me, I wonder if Uncle Lou has ever done this song on video. I didn't find it in your video's. Any thoughts?    Preston
