I've been playing a 3 string for three plus years now. Looking to add that elusive and mesmerizing fourth string. Anything to look for in a 4 string CBG. I'm a player, not a builder. Advice good,…Continue

I found I moved to four strings from three quite quickly, I use three strings for one or two songs but found four strings suited my playing style better, though the four string leans more towards…Continue

More simple than it sounds, it really just involves adding an extra tuner, adding a new string anchor in the tail and adjusting the nut and bridge slots... Rum Punch conversionRum Punch started life…Continue

Hi Guys, thought i would come join you all seeing as i am going to get myself a Four stringer (hopefully soon).
Little bit about myself (Boring bit).
I used to play Blues on six strings as best as i could lol, i am in my sixties now and have now had four Strokes, after the second it left me being not me if that makes sense, felt a different guy even though i knew who i was and knew all my family, yet i could not remember any chords, could not form the most basic of them, felt like all was a dream.
Eventually i started listening to music again and became interested once again in Blues, still could not get interested in my guitar, felt i had never ever played.
Anyway started reading about Open tuning, all very new to me as was anything to do with music at that time.
I watched you guys on YouTube, and found CBN, you seemed a happy Lot.
Anyway had couple guitars around which were doing nothing, so stripped them down to Three strings, and WHOOOOOSH started making music again from scratch, it came pretty easy because my head had been emptied of all i had known before, it was like learning from a baby, and i must admit the old Acoustic guitars sounded great.
Anyway found myself at CBN reading all i could on the CBG, got talking to couple of guys, one guy named David, i will not embarace him by saying his last name lol, but this guy Built me a Three stringer, such a beautiful Guitar, kept me informed as to his progress all the way, he put soo much work into it, my Brain even now would not allow me to build one, even a basic one.
When it was finished, he would not accept any payment for it, not even the postage, it hangs on the wall, and i use it now and again, but it seems to be getting heavier each time i pick it up lol.
Anyway i am going to try a four string, but a light Guitar, reason being is this, i have a Epiphone EL-00 still cannot hold chords in the old Brain so i have tuned the six strings to open tuning and yes it sounds great, but i do not feel as comfortable with it as i do a CBG.
Sorry to bore you guys and go on so, all the best.
Jim
nice one t-belly, we going to hear it? (-:
