I'm having trouble with fret placement. I usually put 1 string on then mark them by ear, but when I fully string it sounds off. Any suggestions?

I've done that a few times too. I've done it so much that I keep a small amp in the shop so I can check it after each step. Common problems that have happened to me were wires coming loose while placing it in the box, not enough soder on the ground wire to the pot, and the temanals touching together. The best digram that I've seen on here that I always use is on the 101 group and is called MJS CBG. Its for a peizo with a pot but I use it for magnetic pickups too. Some folks say you don't have to ground piezo but I always do. I just run a ground wire from the pot to the althread that I use for a bridge. If this does not help send me a photo and I'll take a look. Hope this helps.

I ran into a problem this evening. After I wired my guitar I plugged it in and didn't work. I guess it is a ground issue. I was following two different diagrams, but they were a little different. I have a pickup from an old bass, a volume pot, and a jack. I have always made acoustics and this is my first electric. Anyone have any suggestions? please?

I'm finishing up an electric cbg. 4 string. i just have to wire it and glue the lid on.

it looks really good but the stain i used for the neck is darker than i wanted. i only have two shades at the moment so hopefully the next one will be better. I have photos to upload to my profile so maybe you all can tell me what you think. thanks.

Well its nice to me you to stephen! Im not really building anything at the moment, I am planing a new three string that I most likly wont get to till after christmas
