Ain't even the slightest bit Irish, never been there, but I love the music and always have! Lots of Irish fiddlers around here, who are very serious. A little intimidating, so I just mostly play tunes on my own.

Did someone say Irish! I couldn't help but join. My fam is from Belfast. My great great grandfather worked on the Titanic there. Yes, I'm sure he's the one who sank it.
The family name is the McCallans. My CB is a ukulele. Lov'n the site here. So, cheers to all my lads.

I too don't live in the Emerald isle but lived ther for most of the 80's.

Hi,
My credentials for joining, as I live in England, is the fact that My great grandmother was from Co. Kerry and I lived in Co. Wicklow for most of the 80's.
Whilst there I made a lot of guitars, bazoukis, mandolins and a lourde which I coppied from a friend who got it in Portugal. I also did a lot of re-fettting and repairs for friends and then folk were coming from Dublin to bring me repairs (word of mouth works like wildfire in Ireland) and I was kept pretty busy.
I also played in pubs and clubs around the Wicklow area with my son and also in bands with other Irish musicians.
I really miss the music scene over there and all the good friends I made. Still keep in touch with several.
I don't know what part any of you are from but if anyone is from Co. Wicklow do you know if the craic is still 190 at Mick Cullens in Redcross?
Found this CBG thing on line and can't stay away from it. Great bunch of people.
