Every time I try to make a Mill City CBG group, some snippy admin deletes it, but are there enough people from the Minneapolis St. Paul area who want to form a group or at least hang out here on this…Continue

hey everybody. i live in Illinois halfway between chicago and the iowa border, five minutes walk away from the Illinois river.we have lots of events over here but nothing really pertaining to roots music.peoria and chicago both have blues fest but ive never seen any attention givin to the types of roots music going on here at the nation. a big midwest cbg event would be awesome and there are two state parks within half an hour of me that would be perfect locations.mathison and starved rock state parks have a native american fest here every year with rain dancing and drum circle and such. think ill take my cbg down this year.

How's it, I'm from Cincinnati, OH. I'm bout to build my first cbg got my cb just figuring what material I'm going to use for the neck and if its going to be fully acoustic. I built three diddlys last week and I am addicted, can't wait to get my first cbg built and play it. Then keep on building more!

Thanks for joining in. I'm going to have some time in a bit and I'm going to try to actively promote our little group here.

I'm working on getting the local college music department here in Park Hills (Mineral Area College) to take folk instruments, especially "primitive" instruments serious. I'm back in school after a 30 year break starting a music degree some my voice might carry a little more weight. Who knows, we might eventually get the school to sponsor (or at least host) something.

Howdy gang, I'm in Twin Cities area (White Bear Lake). Built my first cbg last weekend and am hooked now. I'll appreciate help and advice. In return, I do have some organizing experience. I used to put on rock concerts in California. I think a Midwest CBG Festival should happen. I'll start thinking about it. Best, Rich

hello Frank, I am in stl city. I mainly listen to 88.1 or even 88.7; good local stations.

BTW, I am going to the show. My youngest is probably going to be putting on a stage fight and eventually getting knocked out by a barmaid. He still needs final okay from the show's director.

No CBGs, but there is going to be something interesting going on at the Centene center in Farmington, MO. It's a "History of Country and Western Music" show, but most of it is actually roots music. It's going to be November 18, 19, and 20.

Also, you can get some interesting music and local band information on KDHX (88.1 FM or KDHX.org).

Heck, Desloge is a major metropolitan area compared to Camden Point. Which puts me 30 minutes north of downtown KC or 30 minutes south of Saint Joseph. That's a nice area to live in over there. Love the fishing, though it's been a few years.
