My latest build - hubcap resonator

Hi all

A few pics of my latest build.

Iroku body and neck. Humbucker pup. Frets (first time for me).

And the best bit, a vintage hubcap resonator - love the sound this gives it. I am definitely chuffed with this build.

Just have to learn some chords now - I only played fretless/slide up till now.

The hubcap is steel, and it really gives it a beautiful sound, so pleased with it.

I'm interested in how it sounds. If you get the chance to post some acoustic and electric samples, that would help me to decide whether to go for a magnetic or piezo for my Morris Minor hubcap build.

So many projects and so little time!!

Looking great, Alex. I see so many builds on eBay using hubcaps and the action is so massively high that it could only ever be a slide guitar and I'd never entertain the idea of buying one. This two piece neck has always been the best option in my limited experience and it seems you've done everything right with this. Looks like you've done a great job on those frets too. Champion job my man, champion!
