By the time Swampwitch got to England it would have cost a small fortune, i did have a look at the elder on the Tube and very nice it sounded.

Thanks, i will give it a proper go tomorrow, got neighbors and want to keep on right side of them, half eleven in the evening here right now.

The Microcube will give you a whole load of different groovy sounds with pretty much any guitar...the amp modelling is pretty flattering with most guitars, depending on what you are after. Personally I'd say don't overdo it on the effects.. a little trem or phase goes a long way. 

One really neat trick is to use the line out socket in the back of unit and plug it into a PA or bigger amp (it's labelled "Rec out/phones". This is great for doing open mic sessions or gigs, as you can still get your favorite sounds at high volume, using only your MicroCube and an extra lead. Simply plug into your MicroCube as normal, plug one end of a lead into the line out and the other end  into a big amp or the PA. It will mute the speaker, so you'll need to rely on the big amp or a foldback monitor for some on-stage sound...but that mighty 3watts would have got drowned out anyway. Basically you are then using it as an effects unit, so you get the amp modelling, reverb/delay and the other effects accessible, but at proper stage volume. I don't think Roland tell you that this it's possible, but it's a great bonus - in effect you are getting a load of really useable "Boss" (part of the Roland company) effects thrown in with the price of the basic amp. They probably don't tell you about this, so that you'll go out and buy Roland/Boss effects pedals as well!

you are right CJ, they don't mention using the 'line out'. also you can plug yer ipod type gizmos in the input for a bit more volume .well a lot more...

Thanks Guys for the replies, bug those settings you gave worked a treat fella, sounds great and a good starting point.

CJ, see where your coming from with the FX, so keep it to a minimum, even off completely. No meed for the line out at moment but who knows.

jabes, thanks for the heads up on the Iphone and even the ipad, but it should work with Galaxy S3 also hopefully because this is what i have and would maybe good for backing tracks.
