Comment by Mark Werner on December 12, 2009 at 5:54am: Fiddling with my new creation, I find I have to make some modifications. The unsupported plywood top has too much tension because of the tall bridge; it's going to need some bracing and possibly a bridge-plate.
Should be a quick fix as I left the "top" unglued; I'll let you know if there's any effect on sound.

Or maybe a 4-string mandola. Oh well...I tuned it the same as the mandola, and it plays quite nicely. I got a bit carried away with the neck angle, and as a result the bridge is a bit high. Still, sounds good.
