Fantastic find!

They can be rehabbed into useful guitars. About 15 years ago I snagged a Global (rebranded Harmony) at a storage unit auction. It had been hanging on the wall in a seaside bar for years and was a real mess. I cleaned it up and replaced the corroded electronics and tuners. Now it's my favorite slide guitar.

I know it's technically not a Japanese make, but I have also refurbished a vintage Kay K-300 that had been a wall hanger that was covered in layers of house paint.

And the Silvertone Acoustic in the hoard was converted into a killer Resonator Guitar.
