    Hey Pick. I haven't heard of Cuban Chrome - I don't currently have Discovery doh! Another show I can't get enough of is American Pickers and those guys like Rat Rods too.

    lol blue  ,  funny   you  should say that  .  i  watch  those  shows and see  the   creative  process  ,   the hunt  for  parts   / ideas  , and the  reveal  , and  reactions  ,  and  i  relate to it  because  it  is so   similar to  what i / we   do   here . 

     cuban chrome  is another show that  incites  resourcefulness .  amazing stuff on there ,- boat  motors    and house locks  on cars  .  made tools  etc etc  ...

    Blind, it's not a HDR photo. I use 3 flashes while shooting and some photoshop for post post process. Mostly basic techs: tones, curves, vibrance, gradient maps... things like that. ... smoke is added while post process. If you like my photos theres lots more at my flickr stream

Rat rod telecaster

Ok, technically not a CBG but Cigar Box Nation is directly to blame for this instrument being built so I am sharing it here. Presenting: "Conviction" A tribute to the venerable Fender a Telecaster, built in a rat rod style with vintage flair and lots of power under the hood thanks to a pair of shiny Chrome played CB Gitty Snake Oil humbucking pickups. Back in 1957 Ontario was pressing license plates in prisons and hadn't yet repealed the death penalty. A blues riff on this instrument carries…

Tip : Get it all Nice & Rusted !!!

It got the tip from a miniature train forum : http://www.nproject.org/nl/modelspoor-scenery/hout-verweren.html Unfortunately it's in Dutch. But this is how it works : You soak steel wool in vinegar and let rest for 4 days and with this mixture you drench down all wood and hardware and when it's all dried out then it looks like a hundred years old :) .
