I would like to know the best Piezo location for the best sound quality and why. I know there are many different opinions on this subject. I personally like to locate 2 piezo inside the bridge, this…Continue

Hi,I just tried my first rod-piezo, mounted under the saddle of the bridge. I was rather underwhelmed. The sound was just fine, a bit more mellow than my usual disc type piezo, but the volume was so…Continue

I have used this preamp With many instruments. Some of my musiciens friends who play only on expensive gear were surprise with this Joemeek.
I use to record with a 8 track analog tape, it makes miracles.

The preamp is on the drum, guitars and singing.
Marmelade that sounds really good!
Hello, I made a cbg with a bas string in D, the other strings are in g, b, d (acoustic strings). The piezo is underneath the bridge. Here is a test made from this guitar, played thru a tascam mixing desk, studio speakers, something very neutral. I tried once with a Joemeek preamp and it goes on without the preamp.

Well that's interesting, Roy.
Just set the strings directly on the rod piezo...
Very nice looking bridges you are selling! I went and looked at them over on evilbay... Nice assortment of designs.
And my guess is, prehaps your bridge design might help eliminate some of the unwanted scuffing and impact noise when using piezos.
I did notice that none of your designs locate the strings, which most bridges do.
So, the ferules MUST be in proper position, to regulate where they will sit... come to think about it, more, at the low angle, the strings might float anyway!
How did your R&D guys feel about that issue?

Perhaps you could line the inside of the box with foil and ground the foil to the output. Seems like most of the buzzing problems I hear of are caused by bad grounding or shielding of components.
Hi, I have made a wood stomp box which I run through my bass amp, although it has a really annoying buzz to it. Th only solution to the buzz is to wrap foil around the box with the same sheet also touching the output. Anyone know how I can sort out the buzz?
wiring a rod piezo without the plug in jack. I,m building a rod piezo bridge. thanks
