Anyone have any tips on building a stomp box on the cheap? I'm trying to boost the bass.

There's a few very basic vids on YouTube:

I took a CHEAP Nady mic. Like 10 bucks at some of the music box stores. Gutted the inside, wrapped it in a rag and duct tape and stuck it in a box. I kept the XLR connection on it so I can use a mic cable into a mixer. The XLR uses the pre amp in the board so more signal strength for the box. You can use a 1/4" connection also. I've done it but used a di box to "boost" the signal. The box has great bass and volume with feedback problems only at high volume. I've seen cheap cassette type mics at the Goodwill and other second hand stores. They might work just as well. I'll try and post some pics of the inside my frankenbox soon. This box cost tops 15 bucks.

I also have been working on another type of foot stomper. I'll post pic on this one because I can't really explain it without the visual. But it works quite well and has the feel of a bass drum pedal.
Hey, I built a wooden box from pallet wood and wired a piezo buzzer to output jack. I drilled a hole for the jack and taped the piezo pick up to the inside bottom of the box. it sounds pretty good through my bass amp. I wonder how it would sound with a tone pot wired in... I also added some little rubber feet to the bottom to keep it from walking.
cheaper than a pot , just cut in a small capacitor between the posts on the jack , experiment with a few caps to get the right amount of hi cut . i mean a tone control is a pot with a cap , you COULD save 4 bucks and just find some caps from old electronic junk .

when i was making my stomp there was ONE pink snow boot on our couch . it kinda miffed me so i asked my wife , she said throw it out . it was snowing really hard so i stepped out on the patio and chucked it at the dumpster . much to my surprise the boot had LEDs in it with a flasher circuit ! i had to run out there and retrieve it . i cut the lights into the stomper for my hillbilly light show . PINK floyd the barber .
i built this stomper out of a coco coca box different areas on the top make different sounds then i added the tambo. still working out the kinks on that http://www.cigarboxnation.com/video/coca-cola-stomp-box-foot

Send me your address in the PMs and I`ll send you the bits (gratis) if you cant get them  , the trick is a 5mm rubber mat ,  thin ply top basic box (you supply - or make) and five (fibre pads) on the bottom , use a piezo under the kick point , stuff the box with bubble wrap and stick the piezo using silicone gel , bingo , killer kick . If you cant source , I will send you the pads and the 5mm rubber sheet , the box and piezo is your job
