10 cent fret template

I posted this tip in another area, but had to share it here also. Need a neck template you say?
Take your favorite instrument and scan it or xerox it. It will take two scans to fit the entire neck on there, but at five or ten cents a copy, who's counting!!! You will also get enjoy the odd looks you will get when you stick your neck in there!!! So stick out your axe and xerox it already!

If I'm planning on using an existing guitar's scale, I ususally do it up free like so:
remove strings from existing guitar
take fretboard and lay it on it's narrow edge in the center of the neck, so that the surface to be fretted runs right down the center of the neck [use the dots on the neck to center it]
Mark off the frets and nut location with a pencil
use a try-square to extend the lines all the way across the neck
