I was watching a YT video and this young gal was playing a little tiny box guitar. She was just kickin' butt and I just had to find out what that guitar was. Needless to say the little guitar was a cigar box and that is how I got here. I bought me a chapter 2 parts kit, a few other things, amp kit and a 4 string kit. Once I get them built I can learn how to play..... Maybe LOL

Welcome, Myron!
I'm down in Santa Fe and hang out at make santa Fe. There is another cbg fan here and if you're.ever.down this way, stop on by on (usually) a Sunday afternoon. I'm working on uke's now.
Welcome to the addiction. It starts out with one and then you have to build more.
Be prepared! And by that I mean but lots of parts now, cause you're gonna need them! LOL!
Ramen... I've got about 20 boxes sittin' around, ready to get fitted up!
Hey Myron,
I've just started my addiction recently with 3 cbgs and a diddly bow. I live in Alamogordo, NM. Welcome.

Welcome Myron. If you don't learn to play, at least you'll have fun building everything. Haha
You don't have to be a Maestro/Prodigy to play one of these. They are simple and you can play a chord with one finger if it's tuned correctly or use a slide. Best thing is to just have fun.
Thanks for the warm welcome,
Glad to see some NM'ers,,, however lookin at all the names here at CBN. I may have to change my name, like frettin' joe or cigar box joe maybe sawdust joe. But I may already have the addiction, I'm sitting in the garage looking at a sledge hammer handle thinking to myself It's hickory, very straight, 1 5/8" thick 36"'s long. If I rip it down the middle it might make a nice neck if I add a fret board..
Oh well once again Thanks
Lived just north of Socorro for about a month, worked at Kiva RV park. It takes a special breed of people to live in NM and my wife and I weren't them. Took us two weeks to get use to the altitude(3' to 3 k') But had a blast exploring the area. Flea market, shops, Pietown, hot air balloons, etc. Great time! The "#1 RULE" of CBGs is that there aren't any rules! With The exceptions # of #2 The 12th fret is always mid-point between the bridge and nut! #3 Have fun! Once again welcome to the Asylum!
Get that CBG and then check out the lesson knotlenny's CBG 101. You can search it out or find it at page top under resources/how to play.
