Hi all.

I've been away from building guitars for well over a year due to depression after a family bereavement. My current build is two three string necks and a four string for good measure. The thing is, I don't know what to do with it as far as tuning. I initially thought to do a major, minor and 7th tuning (hence the four string) but now I'm wondering how common it is to have major, minor and 7ths together in blues tunes.
Commonly enough to warrant a triple neck guitar?

So, to the request for advice and the question. How would you tune a triple neck guitar with two three string necks and a four? As above? Maybe you would have the root, the 4th and the 5th of a scale? Perhaps you'd go minor, major 7ths (or just 7ths I think they're referred to) and minor sevenths? Maybe you would have two three string necks and a baritone or tenor ukulele? Do you have other suggestions? I initially planned on having it as all slide necks hence the triple neck configuration but I've also been wondering about fretting the necks using the wire wrap method.

I really need advice here so any help is hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance and I hope that you're all keeping well.

has anyone used these? I think you could and then just have one knob that does both vol and tone if you press before you turn it , etc. thoughts? Not sure on the wiring and if you can solder the grounds and the capacitor all to the same base of the one pot?

I’ve built several CBGs, but I am building my first six string electric. This will be my first with a single coil pick up. It is a 23.5 inch scale. Where is the best location for the single coil pick up. I’ve looked through photos and people seem to put them in different places.

So I started working on a build and was all gunho and built a nice neck of walnut and oak ,got as far as gluing my neck piece to the heel piece for a neck through style. 25 1/2 in scale. So while sort of eyeballing everything up, and trying to figure where the bridge would be,I realized not only would my heel disappear into the box with this neck but the neck would be short of 12 frets even being playable.Arrgghhh I’m wide open for suggestions here. Using the string eyes to hold them on a tailpiece or bridge?tag:www.cigarboxnation.com,2016-11-12:2592684:Topic:27262392016-11-12T21:06:58.835ZDanny B.https://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/DanBussey

I'm wondering if anyone has tried using a post or posts to hold each strings tension through the string eye? (The brass drum at the bottom end of the things)

Actually curious if this could be used to create a bridge, there are string rods on some tremolo bridges, I wonder why you need a bridge?

This one might not get a lot of answers, maybe I'll make a diagram.

OK... a fella mentioned he was gonna put some old springs in his guitar... to "do whatever they may be inclined to do in there".

I decided I like this dude's style for sure, but I have no idea what might be produced.

.. so I tried it. It sounds like something is buzzing\loose in there is what I'd say, it's not pleasing... disconcerting if anything. So what is the objective here...Reverb? Old fashioned distortion? Should the spring be tight or loose? Should it touch the back or…

Here are some pics: Starting with mine which I'm probably taking out, unless someone can tell me how to make it do something desirable. In the last pic I can sure see someone went to great effort for this, so I would like to believe some good can come of it?

I've been having some ideas about making one since I'm at the stage where I make 2-3 bridges for a guitar before I'm happy - so I've been wondering about an adjustable bridge.

Saw some pretty nifty hand made adjustable bridge ideas developed by members here using the search, but if I go to their photos it looks like nobody ever does it again.

I've seen the 3 string hardtail bridges from china - I have one coming to try it but I'm thinking one of these adjustable wood bridges would resonate more acoustically, besides this handmade one looks awesome.

Drilling is always VERY dicey for me. Even with my little drill press, and anyway very often I'll have to use the hand drill because it won't fit in the thing or whatever.

....sometimes I can't see around a larger bit so it's off when I'm done... walking bits... and depth is hard to control too, like when you just want 1/16 like this pic.

I suck at drilling.

Then most of the time I have to go with it after the damage is done as you may know.

Any hacks?
