Howdy Sammy Lloyd, You kinda hit the nail on the head with Audacity and a mic. That's about as simple and cheap as it gets. Straight forward no frills easy. Takes placing the mic so you can hear your box and voice. Hit record. One shot one track live recording.  Wont be the best of things but you will be able to save all your music. If you have a CD burner you can put these recordings to disc.

Sorry Sammy, I don't have a PC so I can't download Audacity. Try the CB Nation Recording Studio group. They'll be able to help you way better than I can here.

Hi I'm Sammy and I'm really keen on discovering how to get some of my covered songs onto my computer. I play my Drill Bit Box Ukulele Tenor and sing a few songs. I've uploaded Audacity software, I have a microphone and leads to go from mike to usp import to laptop. However I have no other experience at all. Do we have any tricks, tips, shortcuts, methods to short cut my route through to being able to record without spending a fortune. Appreciate your help folks cheers Sammy

Howdy Nation. I'm starting this group as someone with NO knowledge of how to use this program. I've never recored on a computer before. If you have it and your as confused as I am right now this is a great place to be.
