I was thinking of an online recording collaboration for our merry band of avant troubadours. I thought the name TINITUS might be appropriate, as this could get LOUD...any thoughts? We could collaborate through the CBG recording studio, then send it out to the world...

Fortunately, i can sleep,
i like it henry.... i got out my synths and dusted them off
Yeah, I'm up for some noise. What's the plan?
Well, since you ask, and to borrow a bit from Robert Fripp, we could be a "League of Crafty Cigar Box Guitarists" :) CHEERS, and thanks for joining!

I'm in...noise is my specialty. I've been recording releasing avant guard-experimental-noise music for years now I can throw a CBG into the mix. Let me know what to do to make this happen.
OK, I was just thinking...With the amount of interest this idea seems to be generating, I thought I'd throw an idea out there for discussion. The music we create could be performed in solo, duo, trio and quartet format (or even larger!). This could be freely improvised, ala Derek Bailey and his various collaborations, a spontaneous dialogue shared using MP3s and subsequently mixed by whoever. Or we could riff on a planned musical idea, and improvise around that or work with some kind of score, say, a written set of instructions. What do you think?
start with a beat and bass say 4:00 intro 8 measure. then say TINITUS plays rhythm track send an mp3 to Jarmo loads it to a DAW does fills then sends a mp3 t bonehead does fills sends it to christopher he does solo sends it to henry does a solo and so on. or the random method start with a beat and bass everyone gets a copy then some one assembles the tracks if everybody jams to the same bass drums track the same leant you line them up in micro . now we might have to draw straws to see who gets what parts where but someone has to line up the tracks in time any thoughts on this Ice Bob
An idea: Each participant creates a basic track or multi-track. This could be a rhythm arrangement, or a rhythm arrangement plus a bass line or rhythm guitar part. This will form the basis of the "song". Other instruments would be added on, even vocals, at which point the musician who created the basic part mixes down the result. What do you think about that?

That sounds great, count me in. How do we know who to send it to first? Do we pick a member of the group at random or just post a link and let everyone take a shot at it?
Post a link and let eveyone have a shot! That's the whole idea. Solo, duos, trios, quartets...

I'm down with this. Sounds like a musical exquisite corpse.
