Hi!

I've been a member for a while, but I haven't posted a lot. Anyhow, you all have probably seen this question before but is it possible to cut a bof in half and make two guitars? I have five or six small boxes which are nearly as deep as they are long and would be a bit uncomfortable to hold. Ideally, I would like to cut them in half and add a bottom to one and a top to another and get two axes for the price of one. Any advice for sawing them without destroying th ebox in the…

FWIW, I don't have a band saw, just hand saws.

When I have built my previous fretless cbgs I have burned the fret line into my necks. I’m about to start a new build using a very dark wood for my fretboard. I would like to score the fret lines in and then fill them with a brass powder. Has anyone had experience in doing this and could offer advice regarding choice of adhesive and best method?

Hi, We have a little pop can canjo someone gave me. My grandkids love it so we have decided to make them all one for Christmas. I bought the ebook how to make it and all the supplies from CBGitty. My husband wanted to make them out of a Danish Butter Cookie can 12oz. It sounds deep. We are trying to tune it. I am not sure a can that size will work since it is so big. Does anyone know if it will work?

Also when I have tuned the other canjo in the past I use my guitar tuner to key of C. Is that the right way to do it? I don't know much about all of this and am a beginner guitar player.

We wanted the kids to learn a little bit of music. A few of them play the piano. We hope they can play the music notes they are playing on the piano on the canjo.

Thank you for the help in advance.

On one of my fretted builds I’ve noticed that when I pick the high G string, and let it ring, I seem to be getting a harmonic sound as the initial note declines which is off putting. Any suggestions?

They make the Pure and Simple kit, and the Big Easy kit. Both are 3 string fretless and both mount the neck to the top of the box on the outside. It uses two bolts. This is a very simple design for sure. But, what are we giving up with this design compared to runner by the neck through the box?

Hello all! Newbie over here working on my third build which will be my first fretted neck. Super happy with my neck shape and fret board and was just wondering... In y'alls experience, are there any pros and cons to the order of cutting and installing the frets and staining the neck and board? Intuition tells me to fret first, stain second. Just figured I'd ask to see what y'all have to say on the matter. Thanks.
