Someone recently gave me an old mag pickup that has three wires soldered to it. I want to just connect it directly to an output jack but am not sure which wire goes where. Anyone have an idea?
Lots of mags have 3 wires. Just try to twist two together and try it with two as ground and the other as hot. Then try the other way. Nothing will be hurt in trying. I use alligator clips on short wires to test things. Solder up a pair. Also the white or black wires are usually ground and the red wire hot. Not always, but usually...
