So you built your CBG and now you need something to play on it, right? Well, if you're not completely musically inclined or can't read traditional music, tabs are your answer. If you're like me, you read tabs and sometimes make them. Paste'em here.

Thanks Ed, I found music, lyrics and tabs for 6 string. I saw someplace to convert to 3 string which I'll hunt down at a later time. I'm concentrating on my cbc build right now.
Hi there, KOOL DOG HOOCH. I have the same thing going with some songs. I've taken to generating my own tabs.First, I'll look up the lyrics, than copy/paste those to a word processing file. Second step is bit time consuming: Watch the video in detail and insert the chords/notes in the text. Yeah, it's a PITA, but the repeat watching seems to help me. YMMMV. OTOH, this requires (usually) only one verse and the chorus of watching, plus any solo/interlude parts.
Thanks BrianQ, I found those before I posted, I was wanting the lessons in blk/wht. I'm a slow learner and hate continually replaying a video! With it being in tab form it's right there. Guess you could say " Gotta draw em a picture"! LOL
A Google search brought up 3 videos on how to play it came up right off the bat?
Hello can anybody hear me? Does anyone have or know where I can get tabular for "WISH YOU WERE HERE" I've have seen it played on 3 stringer CBG and would like to learn it.
Hi Richard. To the right of the screen just a little ways down there's a "How to play cigar box guitar" link if that helps? Other than that I know there's lots of videos on YouTube by Shane Speal, Justin Johnson, not forgetting the awesome one-finger lessons by the equally awesome Glenn Watt. I think there's a sister site to here called cigarboxguitar.com where there's a lot of tab? I could be wrong about that though, which is highly likely. Other than that I'm afraid I can't help with how to find them on this group page. Hope that lot helps a bit though.
Hi All,
I love Smokestack lightnin main riff and I wanted to play it in CBG.
so I got this tab (6 strings standard tuning) from Ultimate guitar
"Smokestack Lightning chord Howlin Wolf (1956) Open E (high E string), G (high E string, 3rd fret), A (3rd string, 2nd fret) slide to B (third string, 4th fret, B (third string, 4th fret), A (3rd string, 2nd fret), Open G (3rd string), E (4th string, 2nd fret)"
For the rhythm guitar, chords: Em G Em G
and tried to transpose to G key for 3 strings. I got this notes:
G - A# - C - Slide D - C - A# - G
Well...I made this sometimes before and I got it but this time It doesnt sound good to me.
What am I doing wrong? Could anyone help me?
I also think that we are about 500 member in this group... if...let's say 40 % of people would make "just one" Tuxguitar or Guitarpro tablature (song or riff) we'll end with two hundred tabs for practise. NOT FOR PROFIT.
If I ever get the smokestack lightnin right for CBG I will hang it here for all members to check what I want to mean.
I made this 12 bar test (GDG) and It's very easy to work with.
Thanks a lot! and as Keni use to say ...Enjoy your practise!
