So, the current requests that I hear a good bit are: bone nuts, more types of tuners (black, skull, etc), strings (on the way!), potentiometers, knobs and capacitors, strap pin/end pin jacks... so the question is, what else? My goal is to be the one-stop shop for cigar box guitar building, and I am getting closer to having most of the bases covered. Let me know what else you would like to see!
I want one of them T shirts i seen from the pics of the Gathering!

Hah yeah Nix those are really "limited edition" shirts right now... in fact, those 2 are pretty much it!
Anti-customs shielding on your packaging? ... hahaha ... I know, I'm NO help. :-))
Hey Ben, thanks for all your efforts!
I bought a uke this year that has a built in pickup and preamp similar to what I see some guys offering for CBG's. The different thing about this one is that it has an electronic tuner built into the preamps panel. At first I wasnt sure I would like it, but now I wouldnt have it any other way! Its very cool. I have also seen them in Takemine acoustic/electrics.
I just was thinking, what a cool thing something like this might be in a CBG!

Mine is simpler, but heres an example-

Hello Mark! You're right, that would be quite a tool, especially since it's a chromatic tuner that will pick up/display a full range of pitches. The ones like this that I have seen were specifically set up for a 6-string guitar, so they wouldn't be as useful on a CBG. But this Takamine is different. I will see what I can find.

I've looked into it a little out of curiosity since the idea popped up, but found the stuff to be a little pricey so far.
Still though, I think its a cool idea for an "all out" build!
Any word on the black tuners yet? I am going to be needing more of them pretty soon, and I would rather buy from you than some guy on eBay. Looking for Wilkinson style vintage closed tuners....
Hello Iggy - I should be getting shipment confirmation on the black tuners very soon, hope to have them late this week/early next week. The style of them should be exactly the same as my gold tuners, just in matte black.
Good deal! Same price?

The ones I just got elsewhere were $22 per set.

Hey Ben,
Do you have any plans to carry jack plates? On the topic......is the jack that comes with your basic kit a 6.5mm? I had a hard time getting the jack all the way through the box (the kit was great BTW). Getting ready for my next box and wanted to know before I placed my order. Thanks :)
Hello Matt -

I have an order in for several styles of jack plates right now. The long-shaft Neutrik jacks (the ones in the kits) are 9.5mm in length, compared to the normal 6.5mm length of other jacks. So while they are definitely better, I can't guarantee they will get through every thick box wall. Take Acid cigar boxes for example, those things are so thick that even the long-shaft jacks have no chance. I do sell the end-pin/strap button jacks which will accomodate about any wall thickness, but they are pricier.

Thanks,

Ben/Gitty
