The plans for the 2nd ever Sacramento Area CBG Get-together are coming together.

We will have a show & tell for you to showoff your new CBG or CBU.

Tommy Young (washtub bass) will give a class on playing chords on the 3 string CBG tuned GDg or DAd, so bring your 3 stringer or look along the wall and play someone's extra git.

Will King will show you how to make a cigar box mini amp and give out a parts source list & directions so that you can make your own.

and of course we will have an open mic for anyone to play.

So here is the get-to info again:

Sacramento area 2nd ever CBG get-together on Sunday January 13, 2013 from 1 to 4 pm at the same location as our 1st meeting:

The Strum Shop, 408 Roseville Square Roseville, CA 95678

Directions:  Take the West Douglas exit off I-80, Pass the Arco AM/PM & 76 Gas stations on your right & turn in the next driveway to the shopping center.  The Strum Shop is a short way down on your left.

Hi Will.

Got your notice about my mistake in the instruction on the other California discussion group, and have updated the information there and on both Handmade Music Clubhouse and Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer sites. Again, for the latest info lets stick to the one discussion group:  "CBG in CALIFORNIA"

Thanks.

-Rand.

Hi Rand, Thanks for the added notices.  If you can please correct the directions you posted on the Handmade Music Clubhouse to a RIGHT AFTER THE GAS STATION.  I don't think it's an ARCO & it is a right turn from Douglas into the shoping center.  Thanks.....Will

Regarding the upcoming "1st Sacramento Area Cigar Box Guitar Get-to-Gether", rather than double posting everything here and the other discussion group, let's just post everything on the other group at this link. So, for the latest information on "The 1st Sacramento Area Cigar Box Guitar Get-to-Gether", check the "CBG in CALIFORNIA" discussion group. Thanks.

Also, I posted event notices on both "Handmade Music Clubhouse" and "Friends of the Mountain Dulcimer" as there is some overlap in interests and that might provide a few more participants. The FOTMD site still has to approve of the event before it goes public.

-Rand.

I'm just happy it will be airconditioned.

This will be a great event with or without alcohol. If we really need alcohol we can add that as a location requirement next year. This year we're just trying to boot ourselves up by our shoe laces.

This year - just like the rest of the lower 48.

Yeah, didn't you hear, California is a dry state.
