Hey everyone - just wanted to let you know that I am now carrying basic sets of CBG strings, for 3 and 4-strings, acoustic and electric, Open G, Open D and "standard guitar" tunings. See all of the string sets I have available at:

As always, keep up to date on this and all my other product announcements and updates over at http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/cbgitty

Hey folks, I just added a new group specific to my shop and products. You can view/join it at http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/cbgitty. I'll still be posting updates here, but they'll be shorter so I am not spamming the heck out of the main comment wall, and the greater detail will be in posts in this new group. Feel free to come on over and check it out!

I have added a few new items to my store this week, some that are "trial" products that I am testing to see how they sell, and a couple of products that I intend to carry permanently.

First, the "permanent" product: I have found a good source for clear glass vials in the style of old medicine vials, that are great for use as slides on diddley bows, lap steels, and even standard slide guitars. They are 1" outside diameter by 2 1/4" long. Inside diameter is right about 3/4". I am selling these at a good low price ($2.99 ea) so stock up!

Now, for the "trial" products:

1) I have found a good source for digital chromatic clip-on tuners. These have a nice back-lit LCD display that changes from red to green as you approach a true pitch. These are great for cigar box guitars and other hand-made instruments, as they take all the guesswork out of tuning. They pick up tones either through vibrations picked up through the clip, or via a built-in mic, so they can even be used for wind instruments. Best of all, the price is lower than any comparable digital tuner I know of on the market! I am guessing that these are going to be a good seller and if that proves to be true with the few I got as a sample, I will be ordering a much larger quantity and adding these to the list of regular stocked products!

2) I have found a good source for a variety of food-grade metal tins, and have gotten 3 different styles/sizes on a trial basis. I have a rectangular hinged style, pretty much identical to an Altoids tin, as well as an 8-oz flat round tin (4" diameter) and a 5.2" flat round tin (same diameter as a CD). These are unpainted bare tins so they can be painted/decorated as needed. These tins should make great resonators for diddley bows and cigar box guitars, and I am able to offer them at very affordable prices!

Some more updates from C. B/ Gitty Crafter Supply:

1) Economy Tuners are Sold Out! Don't worry though, more are on the way and I hope to get shipping notice this week.

2) With the coming order of Economy Tuners I am also getting 100 sets of gold-plated enclosed-gear tuners. These are beautiful tuners and look really great on CBGs. They also go perfectly with my gold fret wire!

3) I have added some great new decorative hardware: some jumbo grommets (sound hole inserts) in brass and copper, and also some standard grommets in the 1/2" and 5/8" sizes, all at great prices! Grommets are a great decorative accent on CBGs and other handmade instrument builds, and these larger grommets are really something!

4) I once again have some 1/4" jacks in stock - not quite the same as the Neutriks (which are still on backorder), but they'll do just fine!

Browse on over to C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply (www.cbgitty.com/cubecart) to check out all the latest products!

Been too busy to post an update! As most of you know, economy tuners are in stock and going fast. I have reordered them and hopefully they will be here before I run out of this first batch. Also I am getting gold-plated enclosed-gear tuners in stock, which I will be able to offer at a great price. Other updates include 2 new fret wire styles (a narrow/lower nickel-silver and a narrow/low gold EVO style). I also now have 8-packs of decorative brass box corners, perfect for CBGs.

1/4" mono jacks should be back in stock this week, 3 and 12 packs. These aren't quite the same as the others I was carrying (the Neutriks) but those are backordered until July 20 and I wanted to get something in stock for jacks sooner. These ones I am getting aren't quite up to Neutrik's standards but should be fine for CBGs.

Also on the electronics front, I now have JUMBO 41mm (over 1.5") piezos in stock, both wired and unwired, in 3 and 6 packs. A lot of builders feel that the larger piezos have better bass response - try some out and decide for yourself!

Stop by </" target="_blank"">www.cbgitty.com/cubecart today to check out these and all of our other products. We're adding more good stuff at great prices all the time, so stop by often!

Hey folks, just wanted to post an update regarding the tuners: the latest I have heard from the factory is that the order is due to be completed tomorrow, June 2, with shipment to occur very soon thereafter. So I hope to have them in stock and available by the middle of this month. It has been quite a saga to get this tuner deal going but once I get them stocked I expect it to be much smoother. Thanks for your patience!

Just a quick update on the MojoBone half-and-half bone and ironwood slides. I have a few left in stock, and it is sounding like these will be all that are available for quite some while, due to their maker Randy Bretz being in the process of moving, and doesn't know how long it will be before he can get his shop set back up, and get back into bone work (if ever). So if you have been thinking about getting one, these are going to be it for the foreseeable future.

You can see what is available at the following page: http://www.cbgitty.com/cubecart/index.php?act=viewCat&catId=13

Thanks,
C. B. Gitty

I'
m proud to announce that C. B. Gitty Crafter Supply is now the exclusive outlet for the famous MojoBoneWorks slides created by Master Boneworker Randy Bretz. We currently have half a dozen of these unique, handcrafted, mojo-packed, half-bone-half-wood works of art in stock, so you'd better hurry if you want one from this inaugural batch! I am not listing them on eBay quite yet because I want to give the CBG folks a chance to have first dibbs. Fellow CBN member Jim Mitchell has already claimed his from this batch!
