Ive been looking for data for a baritone build. I have read a 26.67” scale helps to define the guitar as baritone. Before I get down to this, I wondered if I could get the parameters, is scale…Continue

I got a question, I'd love any answer that may guide me in the right direction.
I have a Tenor CBUke....it's 17" scale......however, over time I've got used to playing DGBE (a la Baritone scale). Is it possible to tune a Tenor CBU to DGBE.....and not the GCEA strings that would normally be recommended? I await with any advice. (if it is possible....what strings would I require? ) cheers Sammy
Hi. I've built a couple of 4 string CBGs and would like to try a bass - I have a really nice box that was given to me. I have loads of questions but my basic one is do I need a truss rod (beyond my tools/skills) or would a laminated straight-thru neck take the strain? Thanks for any advice......
Nice Jim, glad I could help. Post a vid of that bad boy when you get the chance.
Jim, you should have no trouble getting a GDG tune from the sets I mentioned. My 4 string 30" CBG is FFCF, my Teisco is GDGB, have fun.
Hey Jim, most 3 string cbg's use the 5,4,3 strings from a 6 string set. I have a baritone Teisco 27" scale that the 5,4,3 = 46,36,26w. I also built a 4 string dual pup, dual outlet 30" scale cbg, 70, 36,w,26w,17. Hope this helps.
