How is everyone putting their logo or name on guitars? I have been using waterslide decals, but spend almost as much time clear coating and sanding to hide the edges as I am on the rest of the build.

well  for my guitars , since i make  my own body   ,,  in  keeping with traditional  cbg  theme  ..    i put my  logo  where the cigar  logo  would go  on the box .   i  have also  done the head stock  on other guits  .

and  i  simply  use  t-shirt transfer  paper , and an  iron. it works . (better on light   color woods tho)    you can see how here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qli-2VNODN8

and here's a picture

Awesome. Thanks for the info. I love this site.

the  iron on  will  give a  bit  of  outlne edge  too  ..   but   it  can   blend  in     nicely sometimes , and  you   can pre- trim  it  too  .  dont really  need   protection  ..  its kind of self included   .  clear coats and shellac  will  darken the image   (maybe too much ).

practice  on  scrap  first   ,  it  can  be tricky   ;-)

I have burned it on with wood burner, wrote it with Sharpie, and painted on my logo.

It's easy to make nice engravings with a dremel..
Works great in metal or bone, takes a little more practice with wood but quite doable. I used to get quite nervous with it but its a cinch really. You can always sand it out and try again.

I wood burn mine on but it is hard to keep it neat, I'm no Careless John with a hot iron!

Check my Ron's Boogie vid; I burned pick's SwampWitch logo into the headstock with a wood burner chisel tip. Just drew it on with pencil. Quick, easy, no sanding. I did practice a coupla times on some scrap...

I put mine on with a rubber stamp and acrylic craft paint.

The rubber stamp is a good idea. I think I'll check into a custom stamp.

i ordered some "Slowpaw Guitars" bubble badges for my builds, they stick on the headstock and look pretty smart to me! (-:

that  does look  pretty  cool  ?   are they  cost effective  ?
