thanks for ya tip
my son just popped in to have a look and play. he said it sound very nice and bassy.
tune the strings as normal as per 6 strings 6,5,4, and 3.
sound realy nice and then one of the strings went off no 3 it turned out the the chinese tuners decided to give way so that will need changing.
never had this happened with the others ,hopefully just a one off.
he said just imagine what it'll sound like with good quality strings!
most of the strings cost 99 pence for 6.
i wouldnt mess with it too much , sometimes a guit needs to find its own position , and "settle" after being tuned . hell . nylon strings take weeks to find them selves sometimes .
all sorted.
when I tried to tune it it was all over the place.put a thick and longer wood on.
it seem to be holding up well.
had to make new nut /bridge.
got the strings set at about 1.5 to 2mm from the nut up to 3 to 3.5mm..
knobs on.thanks for the input.
cheers .. now have fun with it ;-)
the tone/volume knobs need to be put on but forgotten which is which.
and I dont want to disturb the lacquer.
one pot has what look like green capacitor of sort,I take that this for the tone?
I'll have put a longer bridge and thicker as the neck is bending upwards.
so box will have to be cut to allow a longer wood support.
see attachment in my 4th post and you will see what I mean.
yup on the tone cap .. and i'd do a thicker piece of wood inside .
if you could extend it past the box ,making an outer heal that would offer more support too.
here she is. I'm very pleased with it.
it had a few scrapes etc so I decided to do a bit more rubbing down to give it that worn look.
but the lid was having none of it as it came off completely in places but I left it as is and lacquered it all over.
plug it into my amp wow sound really nice ,nice deep mellow sound that I've been searching. bingo!!!
so what deya fink?
