Last week, I caught up with the master of the diddley bow, One String Willie over lunch.  The musician, whose real name is David Williams, was one of the early participants of the cigar box guitar movement and has been active in our historical research.  He's also one of my closest friends in this whole community.

When I told Willie we were declaring it Americana Month around here, he sent me these photos of his faithful re-creation of the 1884 Uncle Enos Banjo plans.  From the shaved-down broom stick to 5th string tuner, Willie's pictures give us a great reference and plenty of inspiration to build our own.
