Hey y'all,

I've been making some backing tracks to jam along with, so I figured I'd put them up on youtube to share with everyone. I didn't want them mixed in with my other videos, so you can find them here at a new channel I made just for the jams!

There's also a Dropbox folder with mp3s here:

I've got a couple different 12 bar blues jams in 7 keys uploaded so far with scale diagrams included.  Here's the Slow Rockin' Blues in G.

My goal is to keep going with this in different styles, keys and tempos so let me know if there's something you'd like to see.  I think some country and folk progressions with the major scale are next on the list. I can also do things like take out the drums or any of the other instruments if folks are looking for something a little more stripped down.  I'm considering some with 4 string scales as well if there's interest.

Feedback is welcome and keep on rockin!

UPDATE 5/8/16
Added Neil Young style (Cortez) tracks.

UPDATE 4/6/16

Added Stones style rock and a bluegrass jam and Dropbox folder for mp3s.

UPDATE 3/22/16

Added "Classic Country" in 7 keys.  I think I'll limit it to 4-5 keys (G, D, A, E, maybe C) from here on out unless someone needs a different key - let me know!

  • Hey guys, I added a Neil Young style track (Cortez) for your minor scale musings.  Probably my favorite one so far.  So much fun to rock out to.

  • Cool stuff turtlehead. I'm usually not fond of playing to backing tracks - too many years doing my one man thing with canned drums and bass. But I just finished another CB Fiddle and think it would be fun to demo it using one of your tracks. I just listened to several possible ones on your YT channel and will probably do something later today.

  • What What What I have some listening to do

  • OK, here's a Dropbox folder with mp3s.  I think it's working...

  • Just got some new ones uploaded.  There's a Stones style rock (Sympathy for the Devil) and a Bluegrass jam that started out as folk, but got away from me ;)

I put up 4 string scales on both of these for 1513 tunings, and just want to mention that they aren't tabs really, just scales to practice that will work with the tracks.  I may get into doing some tabs at some point, but for now I'm focused on scales and familiar chord progressions that use those scales.  That's what I was going for on the Stones track.  Try to get the feel of a certain tune while trying to avoid copyright claims on youtube ;)

I'm liking this idea of "in the style of _______" so I'm thinking classic rock like CCR, Skynyrd, Eagles, etc. would be good?  Suggestions for certain songs or jams?  I will do a SlowHound style in F# for sure.

Thanks John Sawyer for downloading the tracks.  I have everything in order now, just trying to decide where to upload and I think for space it'll have to be the mp3s only for now...

  • I downloaded MP3 versions of these thanks to  http://www.youtube-mp3.org/

If anybody is interested in .WAV files for upload into a looper, let me know...  I will convert them for my boss RC-3.

    • I am interested in :-) That would be great ! I have the same looper.

  • I could go for some folkedelic improvisational, with a little techno in F#. But anything in G or D would work too.

Have never used tabs before. Will definitely be checking back.
