Hi Folks

What styles of music do you play on your CBG.

On youtube there are alot of blues music played on the CBG.
But I don't have the blues, I have a good family, nice home, an ok Job, nice dog, and I live in Scotland, nothing to moan about.
My kind of music is folky trad (Celtic) some bluegrass and country,
Recently I have been playing some slow Scottish and Irish tunes using a slide and fretting,
Sounds good to me.

Mostly blues, but I've been fooling with playing my resonator in a banjo-frailing style which sounds pretty good for certain folkie tunes like "little Mhttp://www.cigarboxnation.com/forum/topics/what-style-of-music-do-tou#aggie".
Playing the blues makes me happy.....
I decided to fret my cbgs generally as dulcimers as that is really quite folky. If you capo the first fret it takes on another mode (dorian) and so on - with phrygian as my favorite. good plucking!
Hi Mark
I am thinking of making a 4 string dulcijo, tuned aDAd with the high a on a 5th string banjo peg,
I play Seeger style up picking, play my banjo aDF*Ad sometimes.

lately I've been figuring out how to play classic rock songs like pink floyd and the doors on my dulcimer fretted guitar
I have mosta those things too but I'm one miserable mofo so its punkblues for me Tam.I used to be an angry young man-now I'm an angry old one..
Not pissed off enough to sing the blues? just turn on the news-that should fix your problem-you'll be good to go in no time!
Blues (traditional/Piedmont/Delta), mountain/folk music, gospel, middle eastern (really, I can get some wild N African/Mediterranean/Spanish sounds).

I play "open string, very basic beginner don't know how to play, blues"
Sign me up for that folky-traditional-Celtic-mountain-gospel-protest old-type religion song stuff. Well, that's what I would play if I could play. Mostly I peck out country and gospel.

Since I tuned the CBG to DAd, everything sounds like Indian sitar/Beatles Norwegian Wood stuff. Including most of the gospel stuff. Kinda mixed messages.
Hi Dave

I tune my 3 string the same, I use medium strings 1st string is a 12. not to Citar like and good to slide on.
