What is the separation between strings?
I have seen cbb using electric guitar floating bridge. In these cases, the distance between strings, is the same in the nut that in the bridge? In electric guitars the distance between strings is smaller in the nut than in the bridge. In the case of cgb, is it held identically at both ends?

  • thanks! ;)

  • It's all personal choice - on 3 string guitars I I use 12-13mm (1/2 inch) spacing at the bridge, and a wee bit less at the nut on a 35mm wide neck.

  • If your neck is straight, not tapered on the sides, then the spacing can be the same. I shoot for just a hair wider at the bridge than the nut myself, but you don't want the strings too close to the edge of the fingerboard for playability reasons. Of course if you are using bolts or threaded rod, then the spacing is the same if using same size threads at each end.
