I have seen some pics where the neck face may be black and the underside is brown.hiw would you go about achieving this look? Is it dyed, taped and stained? Not sure about bleeds etc

Are you talking about the fret board? I typically use maple for my necks and glue a fret board of cherry, bubbinga, mahogony or whatever strikes me. That creates a two tone look.

That white edge appears to be binding,reasonably simple to do in small areas,just look up guitar body binding on you tube

I have an imported 6 string guitar with the fretboard painted. It is not the best quality instrument. rc
