    oily I'm not familiar with octaves etc so they mean nothing to me as I no bugger all about music notes/cord's or what ever but thanks anyway,I do appreciate yours and everyone else's input.

  • The G is typically G2 on a keyboard. The g is typically G3, one octave above G2. They are both G, but one octave (8 notes) apart on a major scale:

    G - A - B - C - D - E - F -G
