So I pictured this CBG with some hardware that I've got that is "antique brass". It is clearly brass but with a dark brown hue that I guess is the 'antique' part. The thing is that I can't find tuners, that are affordable, in a similar finish. Of course the first thing that comes to mind is somehow refinishing a set of tuners in that dark brown colour. Anybody have experience doing this? I could scratch them up a bit and paint them but I don't know if that would stick.

  • I've only done it once, but had success with these (originally chrome) tuners and they are holding up well after a year and a half or so.  Just scuffed them up real good and hit them with a few coats of enamel spray paint.  I did have to scrape the paint off the shafts to get them to fit the bushings when I put it together.

    • That's a really cool rust effect.

  • Check out the effect Pick gets by sanding black tuners...
