<p>Roger,I use my table saw.I just set the depth i need on the blade,mark the box then put masking tape on the inside of the cut so it will not splinter out.I also put making tape on the line to be cut so it i easy to see.The only draw back is that on some boxes i have to remove the lid. You have to make a few passes to get the size,but works for me.Happy building! Moon</p>

I use a little craft knife for plywood boxes and a pull saw for tougher ones. Clean up with a nice sharp chisel
