Well it happened.. I have a build I can't stand..  thought about this for 2 years, I finally took the time to build it and BAM.. I can't stand it.. Maybe the pick-ups, maybe the size... but it just sits on the bench and stares at me... Now What.. Thoughts

What is it?         A     2 Cigar Box,    3 pick up,   2 out put and   yes fret able, neck is a Big Lou 2 inch wide nut.

  • I think Im gonna keep until the winter charity auction.. then donate it.. BAM.. Decision made..

    • Totally awesome dude! Hope you get a chance in life to hear it played by someone who loves it.

  • Definitely a do-over moment?

  • Hi Hip Bone, my build that I thought was a bit suss was the one pictured here. Laid out a bit like yours it was actually built as a lap slide, for fun. once I got used to the look of it was so disappointing to play that it just hung on the wall, it was embarrassing when people asked to hear it.

The fix was so simple, you may want to try it. I set it up to play in a C6 tuning, now I love playing it, it sounds and feels so different.

    • Well it's easy to see what's wrong. You need a bigger case! : )

    • WOW that's nice...

  • How ironic I just tore apart one I hated last night. put all the salvageable parts in the parts box. I used the nut, tail and peizo on my current build. Sometimes you just have to cut your losses.

    • Yep, been there. Tore down three early builds just this last weekend- parts and firewood now, though one of the necks may be salvageable. I now have nine machine heads I didn't know I had!

  • Oh, my. What happened here? Someone made a TV tray : )

I think it needs more strings honestly.

2 More fretboards. One 3 string diatonic 1 four string

Gives you classic lap/ diatonic dulcimer/ bluegrass banjos all in one classy package

    • LOL.. I think I would go nuts..
