Ted Crocker Flatbed Pickup?

Has anyone ever played or buit a CBG with a Ted Crocker Flatbed Pickup/Bridge Combo. I will probably end up building my own standard piezo internal pick up but I was curious if anyone could comment on the Flatbed.

  • Ted: Thanks for the info. Nice looking pickup/bridge/saddle. Will get back with you to try one when I'm ready.

Tom,the Panama Red is a new design pickup & bridge combo originally developed for Daddy Mojo. Crafted from Paduak, it has a larger footprint yet stands only 1/4" tall and contains 2 piezo transducers. A few other builders have used them but I haven't officially put them on the menu yet.

Here's a pic of an early prototype (I goofed and don't have a shot of a final)

They are available but won't be publicized until after I'm done moving my shop and set up properly.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

Jim, there are quite a few members here that are using my Flatbed, Tesla, Panama Red and Stonehenge pickups as well as hundreds more worldwide. The Flatbed is an easy and inexpensive way to amplify your guitar and at the same time provide a bridge. I can make modifications, within reason, at no extra charge.

Here's an example of one in a Daddy Mojo CBG

    Thanks!

  • Yep I don't have a flatbed but I have got several other types from him and the quality is excellent and the service is too.
  • The flatbed pup is excellent. Anything that comes from Ted Crocker is well designed and tested before he ships it. I usually build my own design, but on certain customs Ted is definately the "go to" guy. If you're new to electronics or just don't want the hassle, his wiring gangs and pups are great.

    the best,
