Hey all just a question. Have any of you found a cigar in an empty box you bought from a cigar shop?

Yesterday I was going through boxes and found a wayward cigar mixed up in the inner foil lining of an empty box. I am not sure where I acquired the box so I kept the cigar. A nice find at the end of the day.

If you found one, did you keep it? Give it back? No judgments cast here.

  • I found a whole layer of very expensive cigars in a box in the empty stack. I showed it to the clerks, they were very thankful I did not just walk out with them. They gave me a couple anyway and also a really nice Perdomo box they were working out of! I still left my $1. per box donation they take since they give it all to charity. Nice folks and they never rush me, even though I'm the worst customer they have since I don't smoke cigars!

  • nothing to do with the thread but thought i'd recall a story -

many years ago I worked in a tyre shop in Fulham, I worked on many famous customers' cars including Lord Olivier and  David Frost - I met his driver who gave me one of his cigars in a metal tube, I never smoked it and still have it, wonder if it'd be a bit dry by now... ;-)

    • Hahahaha prob so. The one i found was kind of dry. I bought a water pillow, a kind of temp humidifier, and it is softening up.
  • One of the places I get boxes from has to hold the empty box up to the shop CCTV just to prove to the managers that it's empty.  They didn't used to.......maybe someone left one day with a lucky find !

  • No cigars here, sadly. Just chunks of Spanish cedar.

    • Until this find those cedar pieces have been the highlight.
  • I remember taking a box down off my self to stat building a guitar and finding a Romeo y Julieta cigar in there..I think someone had just given me the boxes for free. A $35 dollar cigar (if you could buy one legally in the USA), tho' it had dried out a little...still it smoked just fine, if a little hot. One of the cigar shops I get my boxes from gave me a whole load of empty boxes..for free, then gave me €150's worth of Cuban cigars...nice people!

    • Those are pretty sweet situations.
