Stringing Jig

I've seen so many good tips in this forum, I thought I'd post one of my own as a thank you. It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's very helpful to set up the string spacing on your bridge.

First, I cut the notches in the nut, then I lay this jig over the top of the guitar and align the strings by placing each string in the individual nut slots.

The jig is just 3 (or 4) strings tied between the dowels on either end. It's easiest to start with the outer strings. I don't really measure anything, I just eyeball the spacing until it looks correct. Once the spacing is correct, I cut a notch in the bridge at the location of the string. Then I move on to the next.

I find this is easier than fighting a single piece of string that never wants to cooperate.

The pictures should be self explanatory.

Hopefully, this will be helpful to others.
