Sound board

As I mentioned in my last posting I am making a GBG for a mate.

I usually fit a pezio, but I am trying something different.

I am using a clip on mike fastend to a sound board instead.

I have used this mike on my acoustic and it worked well.

So I thought I would give it a try.

Just hope it works OK

Dave

  • Yup, took one apart the other day - just a lil' piezo in there. Very easy to amplify!

  • Hi Bluseheart,

I have finnished the CGB, and you are right it has lost some volume.

But it playes OK through the amp, which is what he wanted.

If you don't try these things you will never learn.

Ah well back to the drawing board.

    • It turned out great and sure looks good with that amp as well! Nice job.

      • Cheers Bluesharp, thanks for the comment.

They will have to bury me with my old Line 6, I love it !!

  • Looks like it will work to me. I wonder though if you will loose some acoustic tone or volume by having all that extra mass glued to the soundboard? I would be tempted to just velcro the pickup to the soundboard and remove all the bracing for the other jack and pickup. Just my thoughts.

  • Dave,

The clip on mics can frequently be piezos, too. Judging solely from your pic, I'd guess that yours is. Very neat internal setup. Don't know why it wouldn't work on a CBG as well as a standard acoustic.
