just out of intrest will NTCS play on uk tv ????

Three options I can think of:

- It would be possible (and legal) for a person to rip a legitimately-purchased NTSC disk to a digital format and re-encode from there to PAL. I haven't done this, and it might get messy, but should be doable.

- Watch the NTSC disc on your computer.

- Many DVD players can explicitly support both formats.

The region free DVD will play on your computer. As suggested by Tres Seaver, some DVD players can convert an NTSC input to a PAL output which is likely what your TV needs. This would be a special feature however and not a standard feature on all DVD players.

Years ago I held a job where I had to send VHS tapes to locations all over the world. My content was produced in NTSC and I had to make copies of it in PAL and SECAM using a special recorder. I haven't had to think about these issues in recent years until now. It's just another indication of the international nature of the CBG community.

just about all dvd players from the last 4 years or so should play ntsc discs no problem

Finally bought my copy of the dvd - love it!!! Big thanks to Bill Jehle for getting it to Australia so quickly.
